today’s workout

After yesterday’s run, my hammys are a little sore but I still did spinning class this morning. I’m starting to get a little tired today and glad it’s the weekend tomorrow.
I have a practice match tomorrow at Mentone against Mentone. This is the first L2 match and should be interesting to see how [...]

today’s workout

I was little tired last night to head to spinning class last night and decided to have a break instead.
Today, I’m not sure I can head to training tonight as I’m working on getting the AFL newsletters out. So, I decided I should try and do a run at lunch.
Heading out of the office, [...]

today’s workout and yesterdays

Last night, training was quite physical. We did quite a bit of sprinting and I can certainly feel it today in the legs.
Statistics (before putting gear on):

598 calories
40% fat
211 max
126 avg

Getting up at 5 again and started my weights, feeling much more energetic and awake then on previous occasions.  Am [...]

cherry ripe porridge with cranberries

This porridge is quite tasty and quite a nice way to start in the morning. It’s very low in fat using the essences to get the flavour and using stevia powder for sweetness. This photo was taken without any milk. Top with milk afterwards or mix some extra light ricotta cheese in [...]

resistance band workouts

Bought a resistance band workout and not sure what exercises you can do with it? I found this handy pdf that goes through specific routines for body parts. It includes all areas of the body including legs, arms, neck, abs and shoulders.
Check it out here.
Thera-Band’s site also has quite a few articles on [...]

Mediterranean Pasta

This inspired dish came from wanting to cook some artichoke with chillies. I’m not entirely sure how I came up with the ingredients but it’s a nice spicy dish that’s not your average pasta meal.
Serve with a salad or steamed vegies.
I’ll post a photo up shortly…
Ingredients:

250 grams haloumi, diced into cubes
1 can artichokes, cut [...]

handy links

just going through some sites and found some handy links worthwhile looking at for low calories, low fat, diet food and vegetarian/vegan links:

Three Easy, Low-Fat, Power Breakfasts - Some new ideas for brekkies. I’m definitely going to try the oatmeal recipe here. It’s similar to some of my ideas, but could be quite [...]

last night’s workout

After finishing work, I headed straight to the gym for a bit of exercise. I started off on the stepper for using the i-train workout and decided it was too easy. At the 20 minute mark, I moved onto the x-trainer (no arms). This was actually hard work and I was averaging [...]

today and yesterday’s workout

Saturday, I was a little tired to do anything apart from the housework. I think the break was a good idea!
Yesterday, was my first practice match and whilst I thought we were playing a L2 team, we ended up playing a team in League 3! What a way to start, but get injured [...]

today and yesterday’s workout

More fatigue coming through, as the week ends and I finish my first week on the job with Media Giants. I’m enjoying it, but the long hours and working at the gym and hockey is taking it’s toll on me at the moment. As soon as I can get used to the adjustments [...]
