Recipe: Roasted Caspicum (Pepper) Soup

Peppers when roasted become deliciously sweet and this soup definitely takes on this flavour after the peppers have been roasted in the oven until softened. To give it a little spice I’ve added a chilli to this, but it’s not required.
The photo here has been taken straight from the pot after simmering for an [...]

Buddhist Vegetarian Cooking Classes

I’ve probably mentioned the place in the city before that not only has great meals for lunch in bento boxes, but also has tranquil music playing. It certainly is a great hideout or place to go when you want to get away from what is going on in life or work, it’s called Fo [...]

Recipe: Zesty Saffron Chickpea and Spinach Soup

Although I expected to make more of a brothy soup then a thick one, it still turned out pretty
chunky! I’m not sure how I worked that one out but I don’t really mind.
Is this more a curry than a soup? I’m sure a lot of people are asking…possibly so, but it still a [...]

Recipe: Cherry tomatoes and basil fettucine

I have to thank Masterchef for this little recipe. I got the idea of the show last weekend, after Hannah who over complicates her dishes was taken to a very famous Italian restaurant in the UK. She was taken there to show how four simple ingredients can make a delicious meal. They [...]

Recipe: Vegetarian Chilli

This chilli, is very soupy and also almost like a casserole! So, you really could have it as either. I found this recipe whilst looking for something different for lunch. Of course, I always adapt and came up with something quite spicy and just the right treat for an empty stomach. [...]

Recipe: Sloppy Chickpeas

This originally was meant to be a loaf, but I had this last night in a roll and it’s much better as a “sloppy joes” version of chickpeas.   I’ll try and also make a loaf version of this, because I really enjoyed the flavours and think this would be a great roast or loaf.
Tuesday’s and [...]

run around the yarra

It was such a nice day today, that I had to get out for a run. I’m going to run at least three times a week, if my body allows! It certainly was a struggle, as it’s been so long and I won’t be leaving it this long again to get back into [...]

Recipe: Tomato, Lentil and Saffron Soup

Sunday is my soup creation day and yesterday was no different! I felt like a tomato soup here but tried to throw in a different tangent to it. Lentils being a very filling ingredient and saffron just to give off a little extra flavour brought this traditional tomato soup alive.
This not only is [...]

sorted recipes

Just a quicky to advise that I started categorising my recipes now and you’ll notice in the “Archives” section above and the “Browse by Category” on the RHS, that there are now sections for sweets, legumes etc.
Now that there are plenty of recipes, I thought it was a worthwhile time to make it easier for [...]
