Opinion: Attention all chefs and restaurant owners!

Vegetarian - what does this mean?
To all those chefs and restaurant owners, vegetarian is derived from Vegetables. This does not mean you can add chicken, beef, lamb or fish or bi-product. No living animal is not in the Vegetable food group the last time I checked!
I’m sick of being asked or having restaurants assume [...]

Recipe: Spicy Zucchini with Vegetarian mince

This is a variation from the Spicy Eggplant dish available here. The sweet potato was an afterthought but it actually tastes quite good in this dish.
Ingredients:

1 medium sliced zucchini
1/2 medium sliced sweet potato
1 cup sliced mushrooms
vegetarian mince - I used Sanitarium Vegetarian Mince
salt
white pepper

1 tsp mince garlic
1 tsp sweetener (I used equal [...]

Recipe: Vegetable Lasagne

The good thing about vegetable lasagnes is it doesn’t matter what vegetables you put in, it will still turn out nice! There was a slight tweak to the recipe this time around, as I noticed it was a little liquidy for my liking last time. I also wish I had spinach on hand, [...]

A little [...]

Recipe: Spicy Eggplant with Vegetarian Mince

I am no fan of eggplant, in fact, you could say that I really dislike the vegie! The thought of eating it usually ends up with me throwing the dish out…but this dish inspired closely adapted from the Buddhist Vegetarian cooking class melts in your mouth and leaves you wanting more.
I kid you not, [...]

Recipe: Crunchy Oyster Mushrooms with tomato

This recipe has been closely adapted from the Buddhist Vegetarian Cooking class I’ve been going to. I was amazed at how this batter was created. I never thought of doing this and I’m sure you’ll find this quite interesting as well.
Not only is this quite different, but very crunchy and delicious! It [...]

Vegetable Lasagne

I made this a couple of weeks ago playing with the bechamel sauce.  I didn’t actually realise that bechamel sauce wasn’t actually derived from cheese…who would’ve thought?
From that statement above, you can imagine that this is my first time making lasagne.  Yes, I’m a lasagne virgin..you would think being vegetarian I would have made a [...]
