Recipe: Spinach Paneer Wraps with Tandoori Mushrooms

This recipe is adapted from Anjum Anand’s, Paneer, mushroom and spinach wrap from Indian Food Made Easy. If you haven’t watched the show, it’s a great series created to show just how easy and simple it is to make your own Indian feasts, rather than getting Indian takeout.
I’d recommend watching the series, as there’s [...]

Breakfast and Dinners - your favourite meals

Wow, breakfast and dinners are equal in your favourite meals!  Whilst breakfast being the most important meal of the day, I’m sure most of us would like some variety with this.  There’s quite a few recipe ideas on here for these, especially with making porridge or oatmeal.
Here’s some examples:

Anzac porridge (non-diet version)
Anzac porridge (light version)

Recipe: Devilled Potatoes

Devilled potatoes is quite a delicacy over in India and Sri Lanka.  Over in Sri Lanka this is made with maldive fish, but I’ve simply taken these out and swapped a few ingredients to make a vegetarian and vegan version of this simple yet spicy, and, not forgetting tasty dish!
The potatoes are a great accompaniement [...]

The South Melbourne market is a great place to find fresh vegetables, Asian groceries and lovely delicatesan foods. If I’m looking for a particular ingredient, it’s not hard to find over there.

It’s my dad’s birthday this week, his big 6-0 in fact and we have a barbecue set for him and the family for next weekend. I’m thinking it could be a good time to come up with some tasty vegetarian and vegan barbecue treats to serve, so be prepared for those coming up!
As for [...]

Recipe: Three Cheese Baked Pasta with Mushrooms

Can it get any better than cheese fondue? This recipe is based on the famous dish from Switzerland which I absoutely love after having it near the Jungfrau Mountains on one of my travelling adventures. This certainly reminds me of this adventure and is great alternative to the normal fondue.
Vegans can minus the [...]

Poll Results: Vegan & Vegetarian Tie

Last week I set the poll to find out what type of diet you are following and surprisingly, the results showed that there were just as many vegans as there are vegetarians coming on to this site.
This is something that is great to know, as I will start either providing more vegan recipes or providing [...]

Recipe: Sherry Potatoes

I love potatoes, anyway you serve them! This lovely dish was a take on scalloped potatoes using Sherry. To be honest, I’ve not found this anywhere, but thought it would be a good change to complement the potatoes. I wasn’t wrong!

Serves:

6 serves

Ingredients:

1/4 cup dry sherry
400 grams potatoes, skins removed
2 tsp garlic [...]

Recipe: White Paneer & Mushroom Curry

This curry is something I came up with after wanting to cook with paneer but wanting something a bit lighter than your average paneer dish with a thick red gravy. Using a Sri Lankan white curry style, I was able to turn this into quite a delicious spicy meal.
The only thing I’d definitely change [...]

What’s on the menu: Week Starting 17/02/08

A little news week outside of cooking for me, which most likely mean a happer Mel, is that I’ve resigned from my current role. The people are great and I will totally miss conversing with the Clubs at the AFL, but it was really time to move on to bigger and better things!
On the [...]
