sorted recipes

Just a quicky to advise that I started categorising my recipes now and you’ll notice in the “Archives” section above and the “Browse by Category” on the RHS, that there are now sections for sweets, legumes etc.
Now that there are plenty of recipes, I thought it was a worthwhile time to make it easier for [...]

Recipe: vegetarian sweet and sour soup

I’ve been struck down with a cold and decided to order this sweet little number yesterday at Enlightened Cuisine, a vegetarian restaurant in South Melbourne. Upon eating this, my nose has cleared up and I felt so, so comforted that I needed to try and replicate this last night for today’s bento.
After researching the [...]

Recipe: Spicy Mock Chicken and Bean Soup

Lunch today was taken from the latest Australian version of Oxygen magazine. I’ve adapted it a little to make a vegetarian/vegan version without the tortillas. This is a very quick meal to make also!

It’s a little spicy but very delicious and nice warm dish for the coming cold winter. I wouldn’t [...]

Vegan Chestnut soup
Fuji Apple
Sultanas fresh from Mildura
1 piece of dark [...]

homemade falafel pita salad and yoghurt

It’s been a little while since I’ve posted the bento. I’ve still been having them, but haven’t been motivated to actually go and take a photo! Today’s bento is some home made falafels inspired by this falafel recipe but changed. I baked them to make them low fat and these are only [...]

failed microwave muffin bento

The weekend was another one of “not eating properly.” I’m not sure why I’m relaxing so much, I really want to get this extra weight off now.
Exercise was minimal with only hockey and a little boxing before as a warmup and to get the eye in. We did win the game though 2-1 [...]

yesterday’s bento and exercise recently

The last couple of days have been busy and although I have been exercising, I haven’t had time to write it in here.
Whilst going to hockey practice twice this week, I’ve also done weights beforehand with some boxing in our gym upstairs at the club. This morning I’ve also headed up to spinning!
Exercise summary:

black bean relish roll bento

I just can’t seem to get into exercising. I’m exhausted. My attempt to do yoga fell flat this morning, with me needing more sleep. I just can’t seem to get it together…
Today’s bento is black bean relish made with 1/4 cup black beans, chillies, onion and mushrooms. I combined a tablespoon of tomato sauce with [...]
