Hi,
Here’s a magazine you should know about. It’s called La Cucina Italiana and it’s the U.S. edition of Italy’s oldest and most popular cooking magazine. It’s all about cooking traditional & modern Italian dishes using healthy, fresh and seasonal ingredients. (Thankfully, it’s for chefs of all levels.) I’m looking to spread the word, and if you’d like to take a look, I’d be delighted to send you a free media subscription. Here’s the site. http://www.lacucinaitalianamagazine.com. Also, if you want to host a recipe contest, we can provide the winner with a free subscription as well. Some ideas for the contest are:
- Momma’s homemade spaghetti sauce
- The tastiest organic Italian soup for fall weather
- Gelato to chill for
- Holidays in the homeland…the most authentic – and delicious – Italian holiday dish
If you’d like to receive the magazine, please send your contact information to me at Vickie@reynoldspublicrelations.com. Thanks!

Thanks Phil,
I’m glad you enjoyed it and it turned out - sounds like I’d really like that relish! I haven’t been able to find a vegetarian version of Worchester Sauce in Oz unfortunately. It definitely sounds great to go on the scallops!

Hi,
I found your site whilst searching for potato scallop recipes! I gave your recipe version a try and the batter was really good.
Cheers,
Phil

Hi Leonie!
Fellow Bedggood - hey? Definitely have to be related in some way.
How about I come up with something this week and post it for you!
I can think of a few things but I might change the cream cheese to ricotta - how does that sound?

Hi Mel,
Must be a relly with such an unusual surname. I am looking for a yummy recipe which has asparagus, red onion, kumara and chopped onion, surrounded by cream cheese (?) and pasta sheets. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers……Leonie Bedggood

Hi, I downloaded your flash xml gallery from IStockPhoto. It’s causing a bit of a problem because its preloading the images one at a time, but only for a certain period of time before it skips to the next one, thereby nothing appearing in the slideshow for a good length of time. Is it possible to command the preloader to finish its job before it moves to next image in the library. Thank you so much.

Hi Ramesh,
Thanks for reading my blog! There’s a lot of different protein powders out there. Naturally, you could just eat some more egg whites in your diet and have more legumes which is supposedly better for you.
There are a couple of protein powders I use which are:
- Horleys Ripped
- GNC protein powders
- Natural Whey
- Designer Whey Dessert flavours
GNC is a nice place to start because you may want to get a muscle builder for your thin frame to build a little muscle at the same time.
The consultants there are quite helpful and will assist in getting one that is right for you!
You can also get some natural flavoured ones which can be hidden in porridge, yoghurt etc which will also up your protein level or make something low GI.
I have a couple of posts advising of protein on here, just do a quick search to find these!
Hope it all goes well!

Hi Mel:)
Ur recipes are all very good.
I have a question for you. I’m also a vegetarian. So i was thinking of taking some sort of a protein supplement on a daily basis along with my centrum. Actually i am physically in between mediocre and thin. (height: 5′10 weight: 68kgs)
Have you got any ideas of which one will be suitable for me?
Thanks
xx

Thanks Holly!
The cumquat tea is delicious, I’ll try and post a more defined recipe in the next week or so but here’s a quick summary:
- Wash 4 cumquats and stab with a knife to infuse in the tea.
- Place the cumquats in some water on the stove in a pot and boil with 1-2 tbs of honey.
- Once boiled, place in a little passionfruit syrup or passionfruit cordial. (Real passionfruit could be used, but I’d suggest removing the seeds and using the juice instead).
- Pour into a mug and serve.

I came across your site while in the process of searching for cumquat tea (consumed today on Queen St., Mlbn.) Your site is a real find and I will be exploring it for some time; in the interim, would you be willing to share the cumquat tea recipe- it was marvellous! My lunch partner has cumquat galore and we were trying to work out how we could make the tea ourselves. Unfortunately, we didn’t think to ask for the recipe. would be greatly appreciated.
Regards, Holly
