It’s definitely hitting a very cool winter now in Melbourne, although our rain still doesn’t want to hit us yet. I was nervous today before playing hockey because it was meant to hail. We managed to get through our game with no hail and for that matter no rain at all. It’s still yet to appear!

This week’s menu has a little variety. First up we’ve got an alternative to your traditional potato and leek soup. We also have a delicious porcini, walnut and baby spinach spaghetti and a take on steak. The one thing I’m really keen on trying to perfect is the vegetarian steak. Whilst this is not the perfect recipe, it’s not a bad start for those interested in using a similar recipe to Julie Hassons. You’ll have to wait till later this week to check it out…
